So, I realized that I have not updated for five months. That's pretty darn sad. I was in the midst of midterms in October, now I'm done my midterms for this semester. Currently I'm wading through a modular class (in class 8:30am-12noon and 1:15pm-4:30pm, daily) which is pretty rough when you aren't getting a lot of sleep, but it will be nice to have the credits under my belt after just one week. Plus, it will make regular classes seem like a breeze.
On the artwork front, I've been doing a lot of scribbly drawings, sketches and the like, but nothing big. I will probably compile everything into a sketch dump sometime in the near future. As well I can probably take one or two of the better pieces and clean them up a bit. But alas, there's not much of quality in there. I have been reading some drawing books lately, namely Force: Dynamic life drawing for animators by Michael D. Mattesi, Drawing People: How to portray the clothed figure by Barbara Bradley, and The Fundamentals of Drawing: A complete professional course for artists by Barrington Barber. Not sure if any of these books are exactly brilliant but I'm learning a bit of brain-smarts for drawing . . . Now if only that would show up in practice!!
I'd love to take some classes, but right now it's money I can't afford to throw away. Especially since I'm not going to be professional at any point in my lifetime :P

So anyway, life has been pretty good to me as of late. My job is great and I love the people I work with. Brady and I are doing awesome and our new apartment, which we moved into over the new years holidays, is wonderful, much more fitting for us. Presley is learning, quickly, too, how to be a good house dog. Although she can be a pain (likes to bark whenever anyone is near our front door, and her fascination with squeaky toys is mind-boggling, especially when you're trying to write a paper or watch a movie)

At any rate, I'm doing okay, and am still alive, for those of you who were curious :)

Love,
Sara & the fam
